Move for opportunities
In a bold move to encourage a positive public attitude and pride in the province of Canterbury and to help alleviate the present unemployment situation, the Canterbury Promotion Council has devised and instigated a publicity campaign with the theme “Let's Help Canterbury Grow.” The campaign is a joint promotion with financial
participation coming from manufacturers, retailers and service industries and supported by trade associations and local authorities. In addition to media advertising and publicity, retail stores will be featuring special displays of locally made products. “Too often, we hear local people rubbishing the province. This is a negative attitude that we want to
dispel," said Mr V. R Claude, chairman of the Councils Regional Promotion Committee. “Some of New. Zealand’s finest products are made right here in Canterbury. Many of them are highly successful on the worlii markets which is testimony to the innovative ideas, technical and marketing skills of our primary and secondary industries."
