Admiral retired
President Reagan has decided to replace Admiral Hyman Rickover, aged 81, as head of the United Stakes Navy’s nuclear ship programme, the Pentagon has said. Admiral Rickover’s retirement will end a 63-year career of active Navy service — the longest in United States fleet history. He was mainly responsible for the development of the American fleet of nuclear-powered submarines. — Washington.
