$l00 prize for tuna
PA ' - Wellington A skipjack tuna tagged in New Zealand and caught 2176 nautical miles away at the Society Islands has won a $lOO prize for a fishermen in a programme conducted by the South Pacific Commission.
The tuna was caught by a crewman on the FrenchPolynesian boat Vahinerii, who won $lOO for returning the tag. Fourteen prizes are awarded by the commissioners each year for fishermen who return the tags.
