Two hurt in collision
The Fire Service used the “jaws-of-life” to cut a man free from a car after a twocar collision hear the boat ramp in Charteris Bay early yesterday morning. The two men injured in the accident were taken to Christchurch Hospital by the St. John Ambulance : from Lyttlelton. Raymond Readman, aged 64, was admitted with serious head and limb injuries. His condition wa unavailable last evening. Patrick Hayes, aged 40, of Diamond Harbour, suffered
minor leg and head injuries. A woman injured in an accident on Saturday evening was still seriously ill in the intensive-care unit at Christchurch Hospital last evening. Rebecca Kohinga, aged 26, suffered serious head injuries when the car she was a passenger in hit a parked truck at the corner of Wainoni Road and Colac Place. ’ • ; . Paul Johnson, aged 24, injured in a collision between his motor-cycle and a car on Saturday, was also reported still seriously ill at the hospital last evening.
