Special correspondent Auckland Jenner will contest the $40,000 Dominion Handicap at Addington on Saturday night. • - ' The North Island's top four-year-old trotter will leave' Cambridge this morning and is due to arrive in Christchurch tomorrow. He will be met by Charlie Hunter, co-trainer , with Garry Smith, who campaigned another of his team. Kenwood Song, on the first two days of the New. Zealand '.Trotting Cup meeting. Kenwood Song was narrowly beaten in the Worthy Queen Handicap and was fourth in the New Zealand Trotting Free-For-All on the second day. Jenner has trained on well since he finished second to Sam Evander at Alexandra Park last Friday. “I have worked him only quietly." Hunter said, “and will leave it until Thursday to give him a solid run. He will work with Kenwood Song.” Jenner will be driven by Hunter in the Dominion Handicap. The Hunter-Smith stable also has horses engaged at Alexandra Park on Friday night and Cambridge on Saturday night. Hunter said he was leaving it up to his partner whether to drive Kenwood Song at Addington or stay behind for the other meetings. If Smith decided not to go to Christchurch. Derek Jones would be asked to drive Kenwood Song. Grant Payne will do the stable driving at Alexandra Park and Cambridge, in the absence of Smith.
