Rex again raises interim dividend
PA Auckland Rex Consolidated, Ltd, Auckland, is again raising its interim dividend after boosting tax-paid profit by more than 36 per cent to $1,377,600 for the September 30 half year. The dividend is up 1c to 10c (10 per cent), its fourth
consecutive interim dividend increase. The latest unaudited net earnings compare with $1,011,400 for the previous corresponding period and were made on group sales up 25.3 per cent at $14,388,000. The profit is after providing $581,600 (previously $406,700) for tax.
The chairman of the diversified manufacturer and distributor (Mr L. N. Ross) says that world export markets during the period remained difficult and were highly competitive, but the group was able to maintain exports at a level comparable with that reached the previous ' year.
