‘Pork Pie’ ends season in London
NZPA staff correspondent j London “Goodbye Pork Pie” has ended its London run, after showing in one West End cinema for four weeks, and five suburban cinemas for a two-week season. The film netted more than $29,600 in its West End run. “It did well in its fourweek run,” said the manager of the Classic Theatre in Haymarket. “There were queues of people waiting to go in for up to an hour before the movie started. It had a good deal of appeal to the younger audience.
“The winter season is more difficult for films — they tend to run shorter seasons than during the summer months. The average is between four to six weeks, so ‘Pork Pie’ has had an average run.” Later this month, the film will open in Ireland in 20 different cinemas.
