Disabled man victim of thieves
PA Auckland After Mr Earle Waller, of Manurewa, was disabled last year he used a specially altered car. However because of a theft on Saturday night, he now cannot drive it. The garage where the car is kept was locked, but thieves entered through a window that had been boarded up and removed the two front seats of the car.
Mr Waller said yesterday that replacement seats for the Holden Monaro would be hard to find. . He believes that the thieves tried to take the car’s wheels but could not because they were secured by locks.
Last week thieves, broke into a room next /to the garage and took six tyres and tubes with a replacement value of $l4O each.
Mr Waller, aged 63, and Mrs Waller had planned several trips over Christmas to see friends. Mr Waller has decided to take $5OO from his savings and give it to charity if the. police recover the seats and tyres. . '
