M.P.’s wife dies
PA Dunedin The member of Parliament for Clutha, Mr Robin Gray, has stopped his election campaigning for. at least a week because of the death on Saturday of Mrs Gray. Mrs Gray, aged 47, collapsed and died while on her way to an election meeting in Mosgiel, the northernmost part of the Clutha electorate. The meeting, featuring all Clutha candidates, was can-; celled and Mr. Gray, who took over Clutha for the National Party from, a
former Cabinet Minister, Mr Peter Gordon, in 1978, cancelled his engagements for the rest of the week. The Labour and Social Credit candidates, Messrs C. Matthewson arid S. R. Moody, respectively, said that they would not resume campaigning until after Mrs .Gray’s funeral, which is expected to be held. tomorrow. The Leader of the Opposition. (Mr Rowling) has called off- planned visits to Mosgiel •today and ’tomorrow.
