PA Wellington The Advisory Committee on Women’s Affairs would seek Government support for either a national conference or a series of regional conferences on Employment and Women, its chairman. Miss Colleen Dewe. has said.
The move to push for the conference at either national or regional level some time in August or September next year came during a recent three-day meeting of the committee.
Miss Dewe said that an approach would be made to the Government spokesman on women’s affairs, the Minister of Justice (Mr McLay), to lay the ground work for the conference and the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) would also be approached in an effort to gain his support.
