Police catch car on ramp
PA Auckland The Auckland police made an unusual catch on Tuesday — on a Westhaven boatlaunching ramp. A wharf police patrol was called to the ramp after a motorist noticed a car well into the water. The motorist quickly attached a rope from his
vehicle and towed the car and its driver back up the ramp. The driver, a man in his early 50s. was taken to the Auckland City Council traffic department, where he returned a positive evidential breath test. The police said the man was released and taken home bv his wife.
