Israelis get base
NZPA-Reuter Tel Aviv An Israeli combat squadron flew into a new airbase in the Negev Desert yesterday in a ceremony that the Prime Minister (Mr Menachem Begin) said marked a new era in relations with Egypt.
The Uvda airbase is the first of two built by the United States to replace airfields Israel will hand over to Egypt when it withdraws from the Sinai Peninsula next April.
