Tudor Sky to make amends for Rotorua defeat

Special correspondent Auckland Tudor Sky will be expected to make amends for a bad defeat at Rotorua when she takes on Settle Down, -Givanchy and others in Paeroa’s feature race this afternoon. The event is the Namco Flying 1400, a sprint worth $lO,OOO and first leg of the T.A.B. double at the club’s first meeting on its home course in two years. Tudor Sky, a daughter of Tudor Light and granddaughter of Elabama, showed all the family ability in the little racing she did at two years. In her last appearence, for instance, she trounced Scotch Reel in the La Mer Stakes at New Plymouth. Since . she resumed racing after a good' break, Tudor Sky has fin ished second to Nobh Heights in the Gold Triil Stakes and all but last in Tie L. D. Nathan Stakes, at Rotorua. .• > That latest effort scan surely be forgotten.j't’The track conditions were/easily the worst she had swck in her six starts — the previous five produced three firsts and two secohds. Givenchy and Settle Down give their trriner, Ray Verner, a particularly strong hand, with Giymchy perhaps the more appealing because he has 2.5 kg fess than Settle Down. Then (again both will be giving veight to Tudor Sky, Givenchy 4.5 kg and Settle Down 4.5 kg. Settle Town claims a laststart third at Trentham and a brace of wins in midspring, Givenchy has won his last tvo attempts and been all rfeiind, a model of encyRoyal Fencer is the only offer likely to trouble Tudor Sky apart from the stabledates. He ran on solidly for fourth at Avondale a week ;ago in his first race since last summer. With better luck in the running he would have returned a dividend.
