Just a romp for The Dimple
The Dimple placed her stamp of class on the race with an effortless win at cramped odds in the Jockey Club Handicap at Riccarton on Saturday. The Jockey Club Handicap will be her only start at the New Zealand Cup meeting, but her stablemate and halfsister, The Twinkle, winner of that race last year, will be brought to Riccarton later this week and will run in the Stewards’ Handicap on the final day of the meeting. The Dimple, a high-rank-
ing filly among the secondseason performers last season, will probably be brought back to Riccarton for the D.B: Galaxy Stakes at the Canterbury Jockey Club’s Christmas meeting. The Dimple, another of the talented tribe of Noble Bijou, will probably race next at the Southland Racing Club’s guineas meeting, and her holiday programme is likely to include a start in the weight-for age Timaru Gold Cup, won last summer by The Twinkle.
