The oldest member of the Rhododendron Circle of the Canterbury Horticultural Society, Mr William Deans, aged 92, of Darfield, arranging Hawke Crest, one of the 17 different varieties of blooms he is exhibiting at the Rhododendron Show in Christchurch today and tomorrow. The exhibition, which is being held in the society’s hall, on the corner of Gloucester Street and Cambridge Terrace, is the first official rhododendron show to be judged in New Zealand.
