Fashion contest winners

A short break from examinations was all the time it took for a Waiau housewife and a Lincoln seventhformer to win $5OO each in a fashion wardrobe competition run by “The Press.”

The winners were Mrs Lynette Kiddey (right), aged 36, and Donald Moore, aged 17.

Mrs Kiddey completed her entry to relax during swotting for a Massey University paper and thought she might forget to post the form. She said that she did not usually win prizes — she thought she had won $1 in 1967. The mother of four children, she will use the $5OO voucher to treat herself to new clothes. The win was part of a run of luck for Donald Moore. He enters a lot of competitions but won his first prize, a. book, only last week. A pupil of Middleton Grange School, he completed the fashiongram to relax after school examinations and the voucher will go towards clothes for university next year.'

Their names were the first correct male and female entries drawn. The fashiongram was made up from names of fashion houses which took jiart i& a springsummer fashion supplement.
