Top price for opossum skins

PA Dunedin The highest sale average of an auction of opossum skins was reached at the latest sale of skins in Dunedin. It was the third sale of the 1981-82 season and good quality furrier types sold well. The market was a good 10 per cent firmer on quality furrier types, compared with the September sale mainly because of the better quality first-grade and secondgrade skins offered. The market was 8 per cent firmer over-all. The top price reached was $23.64 compared with $22.35 at the last sale, the average price for large grades was $11.96, compared with $10.50, and the average price for medium-large was $7.96. compared with $7.46. The over-all sale average was $8.09. compared with $6.89. Prices were: FERAL SKINS Grade one.—Large: red-brown, $13.90; dark brown, $17.32; red neck. $12.25; rusty, $l3; pale,

$16.93; grey,, $23.64. Medium to large: red-brown, $8.85; dark brown, $12.01; black, $l3; rusty, $8.20; pale. $9.26; grey, $12.32. Medium: dark, $9.90; light, $6.54.
