Atlas widely traded
Atlas Majestic Industries was widely traded on a steady, moderately active New Zealand sharemarket yesterday." The largest Atlas parcel sold for 87c, for a gain of 15c. The N.Z.U.C. industrial index firmed 0.36 points to 630.93 and market leaders were prominent in both the rises and falls. Private radio issues were easier. Radio Avon lost 5c to 115 c after news of boardroom problems, and both Foveaux Radio and Hauraki Enterprises were also easier. Fletcher Challenge firmed Ic, but its 16 per cent preference shares fell 25c to 355 c. Donaghys lost 8c to 172 c in spite of yesterday’s report of a higher profit and dividend "in the half-year, and Brierley Investments taking an interest in the company.
