Second bomb in Wales
NZPA London A firebomb was found in Cardiff yesterday on the eve of a visit to the city by the Prince and Princess of Wales. It was in a first-floor office of the British Steel headquarters in Cardiff and the staff of 120 were immedi-
ately evacuated. A bomb-disposal squad from Hereford was called to make the device safe. The police, who went to the headquarters, found a first-floor window had been forced. The police said the device was identical to one found at an Army recruiting head-
quarters in Pontypridd on Monday. A spokesman could not confirm reports that a warning phone call was made to the police before yesterday’s find. An incident room has been set up at police headquarters in Cardiff and a joint investigation into both bombs is under way.
