Trip to Germany awaits florist

One florist will walk away from the James Hay Theatre tomorrow with a sponsored trip, to represent New Zealand in an international floral design competition at Hamburg. Five district finalists will compete against the clock and against each other to complete five different arrangements and win the New Zealand “Interflora Designer of the Year” award. '

One of the organisers, Mr N. Turner, said that it was the first time that the three-

yearly event had been held in Christchurch. Interflora Pacific Unit, which was holding the competition, would pay the winner's travelling expenses to compete in the Interflora international finals next year. Guests at the function tomorrow will also be treated to a jazz ballet,with “Moving Company” dancers wearing fantasy hairstyles, courtesy of the hairdressing competition finalists and body flower creations. The competition will start at 7.30 p.m.
