N-dump at sea?
NZPA Vila. Vanuatu Japan will go ahead with plans to dump nuclear waste in the Pacific, according to an Australian Broadcasting Corporation radio report on the South Pacific Conference at Vila. The report said the Japanese Ambassador to Fiji told the conference that the dumping would take place after an experimental programme was finished. The ambassador made the statement 'after the conference had approved a resolution calling for the abandonment of any proposals to dump nuclear waste or test nuclear weapons in the Pacific.
