Piping championships
Wellington pipers won the two top awards in the New Zealand and silver chanter solo piping championships. held in Christchurch. Frank McKinnon won the D. and M. Gannaway silver chanter competition and lan McKay won the New Zealand championship piobaireachd. A record 67 entries were received for the competitions, held at St Andrew’s College. Results were:
