Timber rep. for Tokyo
PA Wellington The Government has approved sending a representative to Tokyo to deal with timber industry matters for the Japanese Market, says the Minister of Forests (Mr V. S. Young). < His duties would include co-ordinating market research and liaising between the market and the New Zealand industry.' He -could also play “a supportive and co-ordinating role” in promotional and educational programmes, Mr Young said. "Constant monitoring of overseas markets should allow problems to be quickly identified and overcome,” he said. “To this end I can see that in the future there could be an important role for timber trade commissioners in kev markets.”
