Reward in bottle case
A reward of $2OO has been offered by the “Waikato Times” newspaper for information leading to the conviction of the person who threw a beer bottle at a car in which Kimberley Stott, aged 14, was a passenger in Whitianga at. the week-end, reports the Press Association. Miss Stott (above), of Te Kuiti, is recovering in
Middlemore Hospital, Auckland, from cuts to the face suffered when the bottle smashed through the windscreen of the car. Her hospital bed is surrounded by cards from round New Zealand. Her father, Mr Leonard Stott, said yesterday that Kimberley was feeling much happier. Her face had been stitched but her eyesight
would be all right. Her right eyelid was nearly torn off by flying glass. A Whitianga policeman, Constable Ron Meiklen, said that inquiries were still continuing into the incident. He said:. “A lot of local people have come forward to offer assistance in tracking down the person who threw the bottle."
