Viscreanu ‘very upset’
NZPA Melbourne The Rumanian soccer player, Gheorghe Viscreanu. said yesterday he still wanted to stay'in Australia, despite the Government’s refusal to grant him refugee status. Viscreanu said he was “very, very upset” by the decision announced in Canberra by the Australian Im-
migration Minister, Mr lan Macphee. Speaking through an interpreter, Viscreanu said he never believed that the Australian Government would refuse to let him stay in the country. He said he still wanted to stay there — if he had not wanted to stay he would have gone back to Rumania with his team.
