No. 46 Brockworth Place, a weatherboard bungalow on a 674 sq m section, sold at auction yesterday for $23,000. The property has a Government valuation (1977) of $15,000. The house has two livingrooms, two bedrooms and a sunroom, and is about 55 ta 60 years old. It is in need' of total redecoration, according to the auctioneer, Mr P. J. Cook, of W. E. Simes, Ltd.
A 35-year-old weatherboard bungalow on a 706 sq m section at 74 Vagues Road. Papanui, sold at mortgagee auction yesterday for $25,000. The G.V. (1979) is $18,500.
The house has two bedrooms, and two livingrooms, and has a fibrolite roof. A double garage is included in the property, which was auctioned by Mr A. Sprott, of Warwick Todd, Ltd.
A 610 sq m residential section at 1130 Avonside Drive, overlooking the Avon River, . was passed in at auction yesterday at $22,500. Mr G. Woodley auctioned the section for Binns, Barber and Keenan, Ltd.
Also on Wednesday, a three-bedroom, weatherboard house on a 930 sq m section at 149 Avonhead Road was sold at auction for $47,500. The G.V. (1979) is $22,000. According to the auctioneer, Mr C. Robertson, of Sherris and Robertson, the property needs renovating.
On Tuesday, No. 20 Kinsey Terrace, Clifton, part of the
original Kinsey estate, sold at auction for $62,000. The G.V. (1979) is $26,000.
The house, which is about 65 years old. has two bedrooms. a large formal lounge with floor to ceiling windows, which open to a veranda, a basement workshop and a single garage. The house needs some restoration. The 1207 sq m section has been laid out with stone borders and paths, and is well planted with native shrubs and trees. Sherris and Robertson auctioned the property for the estate of Alice Croft.
A 3.Bha farmlet and three bedroom, brick building on the Rangiora-Woodend Road, skm from Rangiora, was passed in at auction yesterday at $llO,OOO, but was sold immediately afterwards for an undisclosed sum. The house is about 23 years old and is in good condition. Included on the property are a chicken house, cattle yards and loading ramp, workshop and a storeroom. The land is fenced into four paddocks, and part has been used for horticulture. It is also suitable for stock and arable farming. Mr J. Cathcart of Cathcart Real Estate was the auctioneer.
On October 20, a 4ha farmlet at 52 Quaifes Road, Halswell, sold at auction for $114,000. The G.V. (1977) is $50,000.
The heavy soil is suitable for horticulture. Included on the property are a twobedroom weatherboard house in “quite good” condition, a hay barn, goat shelter, and a dairy, The auctioneer was Mr R. I. Stark, of Wrightson N.M.A.
