Golf cup undecided
Although the Woodward Cup and Blank Cup interclub golf championships have been decided, the Simon Cup, the third division competition, has yet to be resolved. Eleven teams were accepted for the championship and the need for a bye has delayed the finish. Waitikiri is in a good position with two rounds remaiining. It has seven and a half points from eight matches. Templeton has seven points
but has yet to have a bye while both Russley and Coringa have six points from eight matches. The teams have made their own arrangements for the last two rounds, the course for the contests being decided by lot. The tenth round has to be played before November 8 and Waitikiri might conceivably clinch the trophy in that round if it accounts for Harewood.
