Strong entry for sale
The Waikato Stud, birthplace of the brilliant three-year-old Altitude, has entered some quality youngsters for the national sales at Trentham in January. A filly by Barcas from Big Dee is a half-sister to the 1979 Victoria’ Derby winner, Big Print, one of few horses to beat the Australian champion, Kingston Town, at level weights.
Barcas's half-brother, Lyphard, topped the averages at $226,665 at the September sales at Keeneland and at the July sales six of his fillies averaged $440,000. Barcas will be also represented in the Trentham catalogue by colts from Bellamour, and Ellenburger and fillies out of Ramsay, Danish Maria, and Kayenta.
