CTP chairman resigns
After the sale of the Haylock family stake in Canterbury Timber Products, Ltd, Dr O. F. Haylock, who was the company's chairman, has tendered his resignation from the board. In accepting his resignation with regret the CTP directors noted that the last of the co-founder shareholders of the company, which has pioneered the highly successful introduction of medium density fibreboard technology in New Zealand, had severed his connection with the board. “It is to be recalled that Dr Haylock and Mr David Reese, of Reese Brothers, Ltd, Christchurch, were the two people instrumental in establishing the company in
1973 and steering it through its difficult formative years to its present pre-eminent position,” the directors said, “Dr Haylock has been responsible for many of the innovative technical improvements to the Ashley MDF mill which have significantly increased the original design production capacity at minimal cost.” The directors said they w’ere pleased to announce that Dr Haylock has offered his services to the company on a continuing basis in the role of technical consultant. “The availability of Dr Haylock, who has established a world-wide reputation as a leader in MDF technology, will be of great assistance to the company.”
