Ferry out of service

PA Wellington The Cook Strait ferry. Aranui has been taken out of service while repairs are made. The ship twice turned back to Picton on Sunday because of an electrical fault in an engine. With the Aramoana also out of action on survey and for repairs, the Railways has to rely on its other ferries, the Aratika and the Arahanga, to cope until the Aranui is repaired.

The Aranui’s next scheduled sailing is 10 a.m. tomorrow.
