Piracy remains a problem

They may not be flying the traditional ' skull-and-crossbones flag nowadays, but pirates are posing a serious problem to shipping, especially in the South China Sea. according to Lloyd's Register of Shipping. A top-level meeting recently in Geneva decided to launch a major campaign against piracy in the area, which was described as a “growing menace." There has been an increasing number, of commercial ships which haver reported serious incidents involving pirates over the last few months and there are serious fears that their activities might be extended.
