Hellaby wins first race
PA Auckland The Davidson-designed yacht. Heilaby, cleaned up the first race of the Quarter Ton world championship in Marseilles yesterday. The boat’s skipper, John Lasher, said yesterday that Heilaby led from start to
finish after bursting from the leeward end of the start line to quickly estabish control of the 40-boat fleet, and win by two minutes. The race, over an Olympic course, was the first of five for the 1981 world championship.
