Election to F.O.L. of Mr Andersen

Sir,—Mr Bolger has today expressed concern over the election of Bill Andersen to the F.O.L. national executive. I must express my concern over the Minister’s apparent inability to accept the result of a democratic election and to imply that his concern is that of the average New Zealander. Mr Bolger implies that the S.U.P. support over-represents it on the executive. May I remind him that the same thing could be said of the National Party’s representation in the House of Representatives. I suggest Mr Bolger persuades his Cabinet to follow the example of the 3rd Reich and ban the Communist Party or accept it and shut up.— Yours, etc., E. R. MIDGLEY. September 1, 1981.
