A ‘just society’

Sir,—Mr V. H. Anderson (September 2) appears to be getting over-alarmed over the communist menace. Most people are well aware that the

Russian-aligned communists are lackeys of the Kremlin and follow the party line. While the action of the church groups appears to be motivated by compassion and a desire for justice, not exactly ignoble sentiments, the fact that communists also protest at injustices that suit their purposes does not make the church people communists nor vice versa. As Mr Anderson indicates. communism thrives on dissension. He would probably admit that if we removed the causes of dissension then they would have no platform. The solution, then, is to build a just society that gives a fair deal to all its citizens regardless of class, colour or creed. Strangely enough, that is exactly the objective of the Labour Party.—Yours, etc..
