Selection policy sought

The Canterbury Rugby Football Union is to write a letter to the New Zealand body seeking clarification of its selection policy for under-18 teams. At a meeting of the union’s management committee, Mr R. W. Thomas said that senior players who happened to be under 18 years old should not be in the lower grade tournaments. “Eight or ten years ago they would never have contemplated a senior playing," he said.
