Bellringers’ celebrations
The Christchurch Cathedral Society of Bellringers will ring in its second century this week-end. The celebrations will be helped by about 40 visiting bellringers from Australia, England, and other New Zealand towns. The master of the bellringers, Dr R. G. T. Bennett, said that although the society was more than a century old, the 13 Cathedral bells themselves were installed only in 1881.
