Link with Aust. closer, says P.M
PA Wellington Closer economic relations between New Zealand and Australia will be a reality in a year, the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) has predicted. During the Estimates debate he told Parliament: “I believe that this time next year we will have an agreement and it will in fact be working." Negotiations had not been easy and were still not easy.
with reservations on both sides which had still to be resolved. "But in a period of little over two years, we have worked to a position where today I believe it will go," Mr Muldoon said. "If we do, it will be a very great advantage to the economy of this country, bringing the' two domestic economies together and turning outwards to face the world.”
