Chch man elected to crafts body

A Christchurch wood- i worker has been elected 1 president of the Crafts Coun-, cil of New Zealand. He is Mr Carin Wilson, a founding member and the first president of the Guild of Woodworkers, Canterbury. Mr Wilson succeeds a Wellington silverworker, Mrs Jenny Pattrick, who has been president for over two years. Mr Wilson’s main object as president is to encourage the development of craft education and training. He feels that such educational opportunities should be directed at young people, for whom the crafts offer a positive alternative to paid employment.
