Jumper dies
PA Wellington A Rotorua man in Sunday’s parachute plane crash near Rotorua Airport died yesterday afternoon from serious chest and leg injuries suffered in the accident. He was Robert Grant Clough, aged 32. who had been in Rotorua Hospital’s inten-sive-care unit since the accident. The other five men in the
accident escaped without injury. Mr Clough's reserve parachute became entangled in the tailplane of his jump plane as he started his jump. The parachute eventually worked loose, but Mr Clough landed heavily. The plane subsequentlycrashed although the remaining two occupants had managed to bale out.
