The day in Parliament
Members tabled 10 notices of motion and Ministers answered 19 questions when Parliament sat at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. The petition of the Longford Intermediate School was tabled. The annual reports of Air New Zealand and the Fishing Industry Board were tabled. The Manapouri-Te Anau Development Amendment Bill was introduced and referred to the Lands and Agriculture Select Committee. The National Development Amendment Bill was introduced on a 39-34 division and referred to the Lands and Agriculture Select Committee. The Water and Soil Conservation Amendment Bill was also introduced and referred to the Lands and Agriculture Select Committee. The House resumed the interrupted Estimates debate at 5.15 p.m. and completed consideration of capital participation in Crown and other organisations. It began consideration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs estimates.
