Sophisticated equipment for hospital

One of the most sophisticated defibrilators. the Lifepak 6. has been given to St George's Private Hospital by a grateful former patient. The machine, which cost $lO,OOO. was given recently by Mrs G. J. Stevens as a token of thanks for the care she had been given at the hospital. The hospital’s principal nurse, Mrs P. Moore, said that the defibrilator and combined elector-cardio-graph with six-stage read-out was the “Rolls-Royce of this type of machine." Mrs Moore said that hospital staff were thrilled to have the defibrilator. It would be kept in the recovery area of the hospital but could be moved easily. Mrs Stevens, who gave birth to her three children at the hospital and has been admitted several other times, said that she wanted to repay the hospital staff in some way for the "marvellous attention” they had given her. The price of the equipment was “not much money when you think of what it can do for other people,” she said.
