PA Wellington Members put eight notices ~pf motion and Ministers answered 21 questions when Parliament sat at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. The reports of the Reserve Bank, the Government Printing Office, the Trustees of the National Library, and the National Librarian were tabled. The Auckland Electric Power Board Amendment Bill was introduced. Debate on the Statistics Amendment Bill was interrupted by the dinner adjournment at 5.30 p.m.
When the House resumed at 7.30 p.m. further consideration in committee was given to the Factories and Commercial Premises Bill. An Opposition amendment to the bill was defeated, 39-30, on a division.
The House completed the committee stages of the Apple and Pear Marketing Amendment (No. 3) Bill. Some was reported back on the committee stages of the Juries Bill. On a division, 39-30, the Government took urgency on the second readings of the Wool Industry Amendment Bill and the Credit Contracts BillIn the evint, the House adjourned soon after midnight after completing the second reading of the Wool Industry Amendment Bill. But the second reading de? bate on the’ Credit Control .Bill did riot start.
