New lemon tree ready
PA Tauranga Ten years of work has gone into a new ornamental shrub to be released next month.
Mrs Dawn Alexander, of Te Puke, has developed and built stocks of a variegated lemon tree, which she has named Golden Gift, and is issuing her first 10,000 plants.
Already she has likely export markets.
The trees, which bear lemons as a bonus, have green and yellow leaves. In spring the tips of young leaves are maroon.
