Launch revenues rise
Revenue for the Diamond Harbour launch service showed an increase of 27 per cent over July, 1980, according to the Lyttelton Borough Council’s launch manager (Mr W. J. Baguley).
He said that all timetable schedules had been maintained last month, mainly with the recently re-engined launch NgatikL
Both the Ngatiki and the Onawe have been tested for maximum fuel econofnies and performance and, he said, the refinements made should reduce fuel costs by 'about $2OOO over the next year.
A timetable has been prepared for . the summer season which will include four trips daily each week to Quail Island with two trips on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, ‘
The" service is expected to start when the new all-weather jetty at Quail Island has been cohipleted. • . The chief engineer of the Lyttelton Harbour Board (Mr J. B. Bushell) said that work on the new jetty “is well on the way to
