Effortless win to Coe
NZPA-Reuter Zagreb, Yugoslavia The world record-holder, Sebastian Coe, of Britain, won the hearts of spectators in the Dinamo Stadium yesterday with an effortless triumph over 800 metres on the final day of the European Athletics Cup finals. Coe looked every inch a thoroughbred as he led the
field through the bell in 54.81 seconds and when he moved up a gear 200 metres from home, only the West German, Willi Wulbeck, was able to stay in contention. But there was no holding the Olympic 1500 metres champion as he raised the tempo on the home straight to win by five metres in an unofficial time of one minute 47.02 seconds.
