Diplomatic post in Africa
PA Wellington The establishment of a diplomatic mission on the African contintent was urged by Miss Marilyn Waring (Nat.. Waipa) during a speech in the Budget debate in Parliament last evening.
She said New Zealand exported to the Caribbean in 1979-80 about $31.5 million worth of products and had a trade commissioner in Trinidad and Tobago.
In 1979 some $44.5 million worth of goods were sent to Africa. Miss Waring thought it was time consideration was given to the establishment of a mission there.
