Squash series to Idour
Philippa Idour won the ’’Squash’’ magazine roundrobin challenge series between members of the Canterbury women’s team when she won her last round match on Wednesday evening. Idour beat Kathy Hargreaves 10-8, 4-9. 9-3. 9-3 in a hard fought game. In an even closer match Lorna Symes; beat Kate Carpenter 0-9. 9-4. 5-9. 9-4. 9-3. However
it was not sufficient to keep Carpenter out of second place in the series. Final placings were: Idour I. Carpenter 2. Symes 3. Hargreaves 4. Jacqui James 5. The series has proved an excellent preparation for the five women who will represent Canterbury in the national championships next week< . . .
