Attack on girl
A young girl was taken from her North New Brighton home and attacked early on Saturday morning.
The Christchurch C. 1.8. is still looking for the man who broke into the house where the girl, aged four, and her brother, aged 11, were alone. A neighbour heard the girl’s cries just after 1 a.m. and saw the man attacking her in a driveway. The neighbour chased the attacker up the street.
All the girl’s clothing had been removed, but medical reports indicated that she had not been seriously harmed.
No description of her attacker was available yesterday. The older brother slept through the incident.
