Boxing team named
A team of 12 boxers will represent Canterbury at the national amateur championships in Upper Hutt at the end of next month. The squad was announced at the conclusion of the Canterbury championships yesterday. It will be managed by Mr Alex Fidow and the trainer will be Mr Peter Bell. The team is.— Junior: Wayne Jones (Crichton Cobbers, 52kg).
Shane Everest (48kg) and Robert Campbell (67kg, both Barry’s), Danny Morris (Bells, 60kg). Intermediate: Brent Davey (60kg) and Clive Bishop (67kg, both Crichton Cobbers), Vaughan Crouch (Richmond W.M.C., 71kg). Kevin Rickerby (Bells. 63.5 kg). Senior: Kevin Pyne (Richmond W.M.C., 67kg). Tali Talanoa (Fidows, over 91kg). Brian Comrie (Barry’s, 91kg), David Prosser (Bells, 71kg). The two Caiterbury delegates to the annual meeting of the national association will be Mr B. Everest and Mrs M. Barry.
