Spell for grounds
About* 140 sports grounds under the control of the Christchurch City Council will not be used this week. The parks and recreation department of the council announced yesterday that the grounds were to be rested. This will affect mid-week training, primary and
secondary school's sports. Applications setting out any special requirements will be accepted by the department’s office. The department will review the situation late on Thursday and on Friday morning notify the various sports bodies of its plans for] the week-end. j 1 "X ’
